An extraordinary ensemble of three contemporary ballets WHAT: Ballet Florida's 2006-2007 season launches with a WORLD PREMIERE by Jerry Opdenaker, his third work commissioned by the company. Opdenaker, a veteran dancer with Ballet Florida for 14 years, retired in May 2006 to pursue his career as a choreographer. Audiences will become immersed in the story of the tragic love between a young gentleman and an ailing courtesan who renounces him at the request of his father, whereupon he leaves her to die alone.
