MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Just days afterthe Costa Concordia disaster, Costa’s parent company, Doral-based Carnival Cruise Lines announced Thursday it would be suspending its social networking activity through Twitter and Facebook. Carnival sent out the following message on Facebook announcing the move: Hi, everyone. Out of respect for all those affected by the recent events surrounding our sister line, Costa cruises, we are going to take a bit of a break from posting on our social channels. We will still be actively listening and answering any questions you have about your past or upcoming cruises, but for now, the majority of our time will be spent focusing on all those affected by this event. We thank you again for all your support. Carnival lost close to $3.5 billion in stock value in the days after the Costa Concordia accident, but the stock has stabilized in recent days. Rescue and recovery efforts are still underway at the Costa Concordia disaster in the waters off Tuscany, Italy
